2015 – 2019
Foundation
Fundamental research conducted at SINTEF (Norwegian independent research institute), securing IP and laying the scientific and technical groundwork for the electrolyser technology.
2020
Testing
Early-stage component selection and validation through testing of individual electrolyser cells, to verify performance and durability.
2021
Development
Development of first-generation prototype small area stack, testing design concepts for components.
2022
Development
Development of first-generation prototype large area stack using short-stack configuration, to test manufacturability, assembly and large area performance and durability.
2023
Development
Development of full area, full stack configuration including PED requirements, ATEX, cell voltage monitoring unit (CVM), media supply unit (MSU). Deployed in demonstration projects and pilots.
2024
Commercial
Transition from prototyping to actual commercial production and sales, with 15 commercial stacks sold.
2025
Deployment
Commercial units installed and operating at customer sites, shifting focus from manufacturing to real-world performance and field validation.
2026
Growth
Scaling globally, indicating growing demand and confidence in Hystar's technology after field deployment.
