The visit started with Hystar CEO Fredrik Mowill welcoming the delegation and introducing Hystar’s mission to create technology for a greener future.
The guests were then welcomed to the tour of our Innovation Centre, where Hystar CTO Alejandro Oyarce Barnett introduced our PEM technology and the guests had the opportunity to see our electrolyser stack up close and personal. Hystar’s electrolyser is not only the most efficient, but also very compact. The guests were also able to see the assembly process of the stacks.
After the Innovation Centre, the delegation moved to Hystar’s office, which was set up for a roundtable discussion. There, the King greeted his fellow countryman, one of Hystar’s Dutch employees, Menno Jorna, and exchanged a few words in Dutch before switching back into English so the rest of the attendees could follow the conversation.
The King, the Crown Prince and the Ministers were then greeted by Hystar’s Production Director, Bente Traa, who showed where our GW factory is being built. We’re really proud of being able to build a GW factory with such a large capacity (4.5 GW) that utilizes existing space so effectively, and where we’ll have production alongside our corporate offices.
After the introductions in the office, it was time for the roundable discussion, which was hosted by the Hystar CMCO Leila Asdal Danielsen. The participants were: the King of the Netherlands, the Crown Prince of Norway, Hystar CEO Fredrik Mowill, Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie T.Myrseth, Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Climate Policy and Green Growth Sophie Hermans, Hystar CPO Magnus Thomassen, Focco Vijselaar, General Director VNO/NCW, Marcel Galjee from NL Hydrogen and Ingebjørg Wilhelmsen, Secretary General, Norwegian Hydrogen Forum.
It was a very interesting and productive discussion, which focused on the hydrogen market development in Europe in light of the Draghi report. There are many synergies between the Netherlands and Norway, which can create good opportunities, such as hydrogen application in the maritime industry.
All participants agreed that there needs to be continuous focus on the European clean hydrogen market, particularly by policy makers, and that initiatives such as as this visit are integral to fostering collaboration to reach the ambitious targets in Europe.
It was a great honour to be able to host this delegation, and all are welcome back anytime!
