Hystar summer challenge
One of the Hystar values is about passion and finding “joy in our work.” A big part of that, obviously, has to do with being passionate about the work we do and the difference it makes towards a sustainable future. Responsible sourcing
Hydrogen is only as clean as the methods and components used to manufacture it. As a global leader in hydrogen PEM electrolyser technology, Hystar is committed to delivering excellent technology, systems, and services to a quickly expanding market. Executing projects at the right time and in the right way is fundamental to realise our overall strategy, which is why sourcing is such a key aspect to our work.
Green hydrogen in focus in REPowerEU plan
On 18 May, 2022, the EU Commission released a plan outlining a number of initiatives aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels from Russia, with renewable hydrogen having a key role to play. The REPowerEU plan includes several proposals that, if enacted, further support production of green hydrogen and will help improve framework conditions for European electrolyser manufacturers.
We’ve changed our minds
In spite of our game-changing technology, we’ve decided green hydrogen is never going to happen. The critics are right. It’s time to throw in the towel and go back to focusing on a future powered by oil and gas.

Together with partners Equinor and Gassco, Hystar has received financial support from Enova’s “Pilotering av ny energi- og klimateknologi” programme for the first full-scale field demonstration of Hystar’s containerized, MW-scale PEM electrolyser.
